PET CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!

Pet Insurance

Christmas is a truly magical time, even for the most Scrooge-like amongst us! It’s a time when we can gather round the tree and show our loved ones how much they really mean to us; by offering them a gift-wrapped display of our affection. Parents and children, young and old, it doesn’t matter who – everyone loves receiving a present! It’s exactly the same for our furry family friends; they love a Christmas present and they deserve to be treated! We wanted to know how cat and dog lovers in the UK spend their festive season, so we asked the nation in our special pet Christmas survey!

Christmas is the time for giving…

Good news for UK pets: their owners see them as much of a part of the family as anyone else, with over 70% buying presents for their animals this Christmas.

Hey big spender!

Budget is no limit for 8.1% of pet owners surveyed, spending over £60 on present for their cats and dogs. A third of those questioned will spend up to £10 on their pets.

Hamming it up!

Britain might be a country of cat and dog lovers but in terms of those who like to treat their pets the most it’s hamster owners who come out on top – with 14% of them spending over £60 on their pets this Christmas.

Top dogs…

It’s our pooch pals who will be pocketing the most presents this Christmas, with dog owners planning to spend an average of £55.60 this year on food, outfits, grooming and Christmas presents. This compares with £43.85 with cat owners.
