Have you seen our new TV advert? We kicked off the year at The Insurance Emporium by returning Mr Benn to his rightful place on the small screen. You might have seen Mr Benn’s new safari adventure during the break on ITV’s Coronation Street and then on a number of other terrestrial and Sky channels. As is so often the case with these things, people took to Twitter after seeing the advert to share their thoughts. Here are some of our favourite responses to Mr Benn’s newest adventure.
As if by magic, #MrBenn is back on TV!

Back to the Future
The Insurance Emporium’s new advert is the first time that Mr Benn and The Shopkeeper have been on television in a number of years. Seeing these classic icons on the small screen again was a pleasant surprise to some Twitter users…
@EmporiumHQ Great Advert. Haven't seen Mr. Benn on my screen in about 15 years!! Hopefully more to come!

It’s safe to say that seeing such a beloved character as Mr Benn back on television would bring back some lovely memories! Some people tweeted their thoughts on seeing their childhood favourite again:
You’ve made my day!!!!!!!! Fond childhood memories of one of my fave tv shows!!!!! Now if only someone uses the Raggy dolls next I can die a happy lady!!!!!

How does it compare?
With an iconic series like Mr Benn, people often have their own ideas about how everything should be. Some were surprised to see that Eddie had joined Mr Benn on his adventures! Here’s how Mr Benn’s new adventure stacks up next to the original series, according to the people of Twitter:
When did #MrBenn get a dog? I had him down as more of a cat person anyway.

Even though #mrbenn would never have been punched in the face by a gorilla in my day…I'm glad to see him back (even if it is an advert!) ?
— Sallie Lloyd (@SallieSl) January 16, 2018
Not to worry Sallie! We can assure you that Gus is actually a friendly gorilla who was simply startled when he first saw Mr Benn and Eddie. In fact, now they’re good friends!
With Mr Benn being one of a few retro cartoon characters making their way into television adverts, people also queried what that said about them!
So recently seen banking & insurance commercials with Scooby Doo, Flintstones, Top Cat and now Mr Benn. Think us 70s kids must be really bad with money! pic.twitter.com/099ruFGDN1

Of course, it’s always great to hear some positive feedback on our new television advert too!

@EmporiumHQ as a huge Mr Benn fan I was upset to see yet another ad making use of iconic retro cartoons, but this one made me lol @ the end. Kudos ad guys.
